Located at only 52 Km. of Cancún Airport and at a similar distance of the
Mayan archeological site of Tulum you will find Playa del Carmen, an old
fishing village known in Maya as 'Xaman Ha'. Playa, as locals as well
as visitors call it, has developed to the rythm of important investments
from a simple port for ferries to Cozumel into the most important and
sophisticated tourist attraction on the Riviera Maya, a true Caribbean
Paradise. Playa del Carmen offers today all the comfort and commodities an
international tourist could possibly wish for, from large luxory hotels to
small deluxe family hotels offering personalized attention with the
hospitality typical for the region. The main artery of Playa is the famous
Fifth Avenue with an abundance of gastronomical alternatives as well as
shops and boutiques for every taste and pocket. Nearby, one finds a vast
variety of bars and night spots. The activities field leaves nothing to
desire, either. Snorkeling, Diving, Fishing, Kayaking, just to mention a
few, are favourites, in line with excursions to Cenotes, Ecological
Adventures and a choice of sports. Not to forget the magic of the Maya World
with it´s remnants of the past. Tired of walking or just for the fun of it,
the rental of cars, Jeeps, scooters, motor bikes, ATV's and bicycles
is easily available. To see the shoreline from above one can parasail or
breath the air from an Ultralight. In short: Playa leaves nothing to be
desired. Don´t just take our word for it - come and check it out for
yourself! |
